Cell Phone Package Reviews

You’ve got your eye on the perfect phone, now what about the perfect cell phone package? It pays to do your homework-the right plan can save you a ton while the wrong one can result in sky high bills. When shopping for the right plan, think about how you and your family if you’re looking for a family plan will use the phones. Texting and data plans are a must for most folks these days. Without them you are at a high risk of running up unintended charges. A cell phone package with both included will help you avoid finding any surprises on each month’s bill. Here’s a look at what Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile have to offer.

T-Mobile- T-Mobile offers three types of plans, the Even More cell phone package, the Even More Plus plan, and a Prepaid plan.  The Even More plans start at $39.99 for 500 anytime minutes, unlimited nights and weekends and unlimited calling to other T-Mobile customers.  For 1000 anytime minutes the price goes up to $49.99 and for unlimited it’s $59.99. The family plans, which offer 750, 1500, and unlimited minutes, start at $59.99 and go up to $99.99. The first two lines are free and up to three additional are available for $5 each per month. Unlimited data and text plans are $10 each.  The Even More Plus plans offer the same features for a little less money and no contract, but there’s a catch. Customers who chose one of the Even More Plus plans aren’t given any discounts on phones. They have to pay full retail price. The prepaid plans come in Pay as You Go and Pay By the Day. The Pay By the Day plans feature unlimited calling from 7pm-7am, 10 cents a minute calls any other time, and a  $1 daily charge only on the days you actually use the phone. The Pay As You Go plan offer buckets of minutes starting at 30 minutes for $10 and going all the way up to 1000 minutes for $100.  Both plans come with unlimited long distance, voice mail and roaming included.

AT&T- This is the carrier with the iron clad grip on the iPhone, but it also has the worst data network of all the carriers-a bad thing for a data hungry phone like the iPhone.  They offer individual, family and prepaid plans. Individual plans start at $39.99 for 450 minutes with unlimited nights and weekends, mobile to mobile and roll over minutes included. An unlimited plan is available for $69.99. They also offer plans with Canada calling included and a special plan for people over 65 that’s just $29.99 a month. The family plans start at $59.99 a month for 550 minutes and go up to $119.99 a month for unlimited.  3 lines are allowed on the 550 minute plan, and the others allow 5 lines. The first two are free and any additional are $9.99 a month each. The prepaid GoPhone plans range from a $3 unlimited calling plan-everything is unlimited but there is a $3 charge for each day you use your phone, to a $60 unlimited plan with no daily charges.

Verizon- Verizon offers an unlimited talk and texting plan for $89.99 a month. An unlimited talk only plan will run you $69.99. There are also 450 and 900 minute plans available for between $39.99 and $79.99 a month.  An unlimited data plan will run you an additional $29.99 a month. Their unlimited talk and text family plan is a steep $149.99 a month and just talk is $119.99. Again, data is extra. Other family plans are available with between 700-2000 minutes and ranging in price from $69.99 to $129.99. A special plan for people 65 and older is also available.
